Falu began writing at 14 years old and by age 16 she had begun reciting. She is well known as a performance artist throughout NYC and is a member of the 2006 Nuyorican Poets Café Slam Team, becoming the top female poet of the year. She is also the co-coach of the Nuyo Slam Team 2007-currently ranked 5th in the nation. She also slammed her way on the 2009 team, currently ranked 4th in the nation. Falu has shared stages with some of today's best poets, co-created an all women's showcase "Lips, Hips and All That Jazz", opened up shows for R&B sensations and countless other charitable and political events.Although much has been accomplished in her short career, Falu is best known for her teaching ability and workshop leadership. She is currently teaching artisst at Brooklyn Collegiate High School and PureElements because she enjoys watching students express themselves. She has taught at Medgar Evers College/ College Now program at the tender age of 19 and was featured on MEC radio and broadcast. She is a member of Reaching Back, an organization for young black poets and writers based out NYC High Schools. She has authored three books, "Ten Things I Want To Say to A Black Man", "The Wet on My Tongue" and "When Ears Collide With Souls". She has been published in the anthologies "30/30" and "His Rib". Her projects include mentorship, workshop leadership, working on her first CD and rocking stages with her dope poetry collectives Writers Block and The Bitten Tongue. She lives in Brooklyn and believes in fashion. Seriously.
